Assembler
This collection is made of items collected and assembled together to form enigmatic characters that can accompany their owner
I have combined nostalgia for trips and times past, with fables and stories, and a tendency for hoarding behaviour, assembling into unique characters that are as comfortable off the body as they are worn as items of adornment
The Assembler Collection
Familiar found objects and treasured items recreated in precious metals and gemstones form a collection of fictional creatures that include hidden elements of moving parts, lockets and sliding boxes.
Wearers can add to the collection by placing their own treasures into the secret nooks found in the bodies of the creatures.
Sterling
Sterling, an insect with a body echoing a cherished festive chocolate coin formed from embossed silver and gold, with wings that open revealing an inside space to store tiny treats or miniature marvels. On its cast silver head sit guttering Emerald eyes and an antenna echoing a hair grip in forged sterling silver. With a silver tail Sterling’s sting pierces the wearers clothing to attach, balanced on the chest or shoulder as if ready to fly away.
Shelldon
Shelldon, a creature created with the body of a shell collected from a holiday trip, has a golden spiral surrounding its form that continues into a spiral brooch pin to attach to you. Its shell is decorated with a collection of gemstones including Topaz and Peridot in a variety of stone settings, and a secret collection of gems is stored secretly inside it’s inner cavity, a sparkling cove of treasured pieces. Balanced on lost wax cast feet inspired by a seasonal toy, Shelldon looks likely to scuttle away.
Beaker
Beaker, a character with a glass vessel body that suspends from a golden chain. Its head is a cast screw top compiled of a silver bird skull collected and reformed from a countryside escape, set with sparkling Sapphire eyes, and arms moulded from a doll figurine in polished metal. Beaker’s body is a container to hold a precious item and can store the necklace when not being hung around the wearer’s neck.
Bobby
Bobby, an adventurous soul with an embossed matchbox body constructed in sterling silver and gold clips onto a pocket or belt to travel with you. Its body tells of multiple journeys, assembled together with a silver cast button head, arms forged to echo bobby pin hair grips, and feet made from shells gathered at the beach. Atop it’s head sits is collected treasure of a shiny ring set with a green Sapphire, worn as a jaunty hat, and its body slides open to reveal space to store further valued trinkets that the wearer may wish to keep.
Erasmus
Erasmus, a mouse hanging on a tapered silver tail hooked to your ear, with forged silver ears and toylike moving googley eyes. A golden peach pip body, recreated from a cast fruit stone enjoyed during a special meal, opens as a hinged locket, with the smooth inner cavity to host the wearer’s treasured possession like a love note or lock of hair.
